Hello! Glad to see you there!
My name is Anna, I am the author and creator of everything on this site.
All my life I have enjoyed doing various creative things – drawing, sewing, knitting, sculpting, macrame, creating jewelry, toys and so on. My grandmothers taught me everything. I was born in the 90s, and there was no Internet back then, and new knowledge about needlework could only be found in rare books. I sewed my first clothes – pants – at the age of 7. Of course, it was not high-level sewing, I used a bed sheet as material, and for the pattern I traced myself with a pen. But the fact – the pants looked like pants and were the right size. I remember, my mother asked: “Where did you learn how to sew pants?” I had no answer. It seemed to me that everyone had this knowledge, because everyone saw what pants looked like. Looking ahead, I will say that to this day I am guided by the same principles when sewing things: I do not complicate the patterns and use sheets, duvet covers, tablecloths… I write more about this in the section “about the project“.
Even though I loved to be creative, after school I entered the university for a technical specialty, and after graduation I worked for many years as an engineer in construction companies. I really liked this job! There was little time left for hobbies. Nevertheless, my parents gave me a good sewing machine and I sewed dresses and blouses for myself. With friends, we did cosplay and participated in anime festivals. It was interesting to create costumes of game and anime characters. I also knitted a lot. Hats and scarves, mittens, socks.
I really created a lot of things. Basically, I did everything intuitively, and sometimes the result did not satisfy me at all. I wore some dresses often, and some experiments were sent to the closet forever. In some ways, I had good experience, but I understood that I only had basic knowledge, which was not enough. Let’s move on to the most interesting moment in my story. In 2020, I moved to Finland. I had only one suitcase with me! I didn’t know the language. I didn’t have a job. I had to start life from scratch. By that time, I was already a little tired of working as an engineer and wanted to try something new. I remembered my love for handmade, for creativity. I managed to get into a college of textiles and fashion. There I was taught to do a lot of things professionally. Not only to sew on professional equipment, but also to make schemes, clothing patterns, make descriptions, take photographs. I saw how a textile printer, an embroidery machine, a laser work, even how to cut and grind stones. I used these devices myself! When I started study at college, I thought that I knew and could do a lot. How quickly I realized that I was totally wrong. It’s funny to think that before college I didn’t even know my sewing machine could make buttonholes! In 15 years of owning my sewing machine, I didn’t know I had such a function right under my nose! It’s embarrassing, but that makes it even funnier.
My sewing and knitting skills grew a lot during my studies. I learned how to create really good, comfortable, and high-quality things. If it’s a handbag, I think about what size it should be so that it can fit everything I need. I select fittings so that they not only look harmonious, but are also durable and don’t catch on clothes. I think about pockets, about fasteners, about how well the materials match each other. If it’s a dress, how comfortable the cuffs and neckline will be. So my hobby slowly became a designer’s profession. And although the designer’s profession is truly creative, I don’t consider myself a creative person and can’t call myself one. I just love trying new things, figuring everything out, and I work a lot. At some point, my creations became too many, and as a minimalist, I felt uneasy about it. I came up with the idea of creating a website where I could not only show my work, but also share it with those who, like me, share my tastes and principles. I love all my creations, I adore admiring and touching them, but I am also happy when they bring the same pleasure to someone else. Regardless of whether you buy something from me or not, if you just liked my products, I will be happy!
